Why We Don’t Use Metal Fillings

Metal fillings (like amalgam) require removal of healthy tooth structure, expand and contract with temperature changes, and don’t bond to the tooth — which can lead to cracks or sensitivity over time.

What to Expect During the Procedure

The procedure is smooth, comfortable, and usually completed in a single visit for composite fillings.

3. Bonding: The filling material is placed layer by layer and hardened with a special light.

4. Polishing & bite check: The tooth is shaped and polished to blend seamlessly with your natural teeth.

Ceramic restorations typically involve two visits—one for preparing and taking a digital scan, and another for bonding the final restoration.
